Cherkizovo to invest 6 bln rbl into pig farm in Penza Reg till 2022

PENZA, Jun 14 (PRIME) -- Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group plans to invest 6 billion rubles in construction of a pig-breeding farm with a capacity of 440,000 heads in the Penza Region until the end of 2021, the region’s government said in a statement on Friday.

The pig farm project encompasses construction of 11 feeding stations with capacities of 40,000 heads each with the fifth station launched on Friday. Two more feeding stations will be launched until the end of 2019, and another four in 2020–2021, the government said.

“This year pork production will amount to 40,000 tonnes in live weight. We have the goal of raising production to 300,000 tonnes in live weight,” Babayev said as quoted by the government.
